The Department of Advertising & Brand Strategy provides a 120-credit Bachelor of Arts program in Advertising. This program equips students with the knowledge and skills to excel as professionals in advertising and brand communications.
Coursework promotes ethical thinking while linking advertising principles to both historical context and modern culture. Learners evaluate and assess advertising and brand messaging while examining today's interconnected media landscape. The program fosters independent thought and teamwork in a business environment, with strong emphasis on developing both verbal and written communication skills for crafting original advertising content. It balances technical training with creative development and analytical reasoning.
Advertising majors develop comprehensive knowledge of both creative and operational advertising components, readying them for roles in account management, brand strategy, creative writing, sales, production, visual design, digital marketing, media coordination, and market analysis. The curriculum includes supplementary courses from other college departments along with approved external electives.
The department regularly invites industry experts to discuss internship and career opportunities. Students can join various departmental and college organizations for practical experience, plus participate in regional and national advertising competitions.
