The Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Human Sciences is available both in-person and through online learning. This program is designed for students who have earned an A.A.S. degree in Human Sciences or related fields from an accredited community college. It provides an adaptable interdisciplinary curriculum, allowing students to tailor their education. Alongside core general education requirements, participants complete 54 credit hours distributed equally across three interconnected disciplines (18 hours per area). These include the student's original A.A.S. specialization, Human Sciences coursework, and an elective minor from the College of Human Sciences or other approved programs. While on-campus students can choose from all available minors, online learners must select from web-based options. All three academic tracks must combine to create a unique, integrated program not duplicated by other university offerings. This degree is exclusively for A.A.S. graduates not currently pursuing a B.A. or B.S. at Texas Tech. The College of Human Sciences Dean's Office oversees the program, with academic advising available through their office at 806.742.1941. Graduates will demonstrate the ability to synthesize knowledge from three complementary fields, applying this integrated understanding to examine human experiences, tackle life challenges, and develop solutions that better people's lives.
