Our music programs equip students to master various musical disciplines, from teaching and history to conducting, composition, theory, and performance. Texas State fosters a comprehensive and artistically stimulating education by providing diverse performance opportunities such as opera productions, choral groups, orchestral performances, concert and marching bands, chamber ensembles, as well as acclaimed mariachi and salsa groups, among other dynamic cultural music ensembles.

minimum 2.75 GPA in the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work (plus any completed graduate courses)
