The M.A. and M.Ed. programs in Secondary Education with a Talent Development focus provide students with both practical abilities and theoretical understanding for elevated teaching, mentorship, and leadership positions across classrooms, school systems, or community organizations. Participants can select between two specialization tracks: (1) promoting transformative learning, creative thinking, and talent cultivation among educators and students, or (2) advancing and reimagining gifted education instruction. Alumni of these adaptable programs qualify for diverse career paths including mentorship program director, instructor for advanced/gifted/honors courses, curriculum specialist, talent development advisor, innovative classroom educator, and community education expert. These degrees also lay the groundwork for pursuing doctoral education.
The Talent Development graduate program collaboratively generates and disseminates knowledge concerning creativity, talent cultivation, and educational transformation. The M.A. and M.Ed. curricula ready graduate students to equitably nurture growth and prepare them for advanced careers focused on (1) developing student and educator talents, creativity, and transformative learning or (2) revolutionizing advanced and gifted education instruction.
