The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering Technology equips students with a solid technical base for participating in engineering initiatives. This curriculum addresses multiple components such as designing production processes and automated systems, generating novel products and manufacturing facilities, devising tooling strategies, setting up quality control and enhancement protocols, executing testing and maintenance schedules, creating safety initiatives, and establishing work procedures and lean methodologies. Students have the option to concentrate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology. The program mandates an internship, requiring students to complete 10 weeks and 400 hours of industry work. A minor is not necessary for the B.S. in Engineering Technology.
The Department of Engineering Technology aims to ready students for technical-professional roles in both industry and education. This goal is achieved through committed faculty delivering specialized programs with a structured, technical emphasis. Graduates are equipped to take on professionally accountable positions in manufacturing, construction, concrete industry management, computer-aided technologies, electronics, and education. Sixteen fully-equipped technical labs provide training in the methods and practices employed by modern world-class industries.
