The Department of Agricultural Sciences provides diverse programs that mirror the wide array of opportunities and competencies needed in contemporary agriculture and its associated fields. This evolving, worldwide sector employs cutting-edge technologies to enhance food production, management, processing, and distribution. Agriculture degree programs deliver comprehensive training across agricultural fields, preparing graduates to operate farms or ranches, or pursue careers demanding general agricultural knowledge, such as extension services, financial institutions, or public sector roles.
Through an interdisciplinary framework, this program introduces students to agriculture's vast scope. Coursework covers agribusiness, farm machinery, agricultural education, livestock science, plant cultivation, and earth sciences. For electives, students can explore various agricultural subjects or specialize in specific areas like those mentioned. As highlighted in the UN Food and Agriculture Organization's 2017 report "The Future of Food and Agriculture," emerging needs for agricultural professionals include international commerce and food regulations, environmental shifts, food sustainability issues, crop and livestock health concerns, nutrition security governance, and farming innovations. First-time college applicants are required to graduate or have graduated from a foreign secondary school with an academic profile equivalent to that of a U.S. high school curriculum.
Graduate with the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.

We strongly encourage anyone who is not offered freshman admission to attend another college, complete 30 hours of transferable credit with a minimum GPA of a 2.25, and apply for transfer admission.
