The Mechanical Engineering Graduate Program equips students:
with core principles and hands-on expertise in contemporary engineering,
to tackle real-world engineering problems while fostering academic and career growth, and
with awareness of ethical obligations encompassing economic, environmental, and social considerations.
The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering offers both thesis and project options, requiring 30 or 36 credit hours of graduate coursework.
State-of-the-art research labs support studies in robotics, automation, intelligent controls, composite materials, additive manufacturing, smart systems, and computer-aided design. Advanced computing resources are provided.
New graduate students must complete a minimum one-year residency in the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department before seeking transfers within Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Such requests require approval from both the graduate coordinator and department chair.
