The Department of Agriculture, Agribusiness and Environmental Sciences provides a collaborative Ph.D. program in Horticulture, in conjunction with Texas A&M University's Department of Horticultural Sciences in College Station. While Texas A&M University grants the degree, students can complete significant portions of coursework, research, and faculty advising at Texas A&M University-Kingsville or its Citrus Center. This program encompasses all areas of horticultural study. Participants are strongly advised to spend a minimum of two semesters at Texas A&M University's College Station campus and to be guided by a joint advisory committee featuring faculty from both institutions, with co-chairs representing each university. The primary committee chair must hold a faculty position at Texas A&M University.
