The department's curriculum equips students with fundamental knowledge in both Animal Science (ANSC) and Veterinary Technology (VETT), blending theoretical foundations with practical applications. Our program fosters critical thinking and communication abilities essential for thriving in animal and veterinary science careers.

Students gain balanced exposure through classroom instruction and real-world practice at our specialized facilities. Animal Science majors work with swine, beef cattle, and small ruminants (sheep and goats) at the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Farm, while Veterinary Technology students train with cutting-edge equipment at our advanced Technology Center. Our faculty actively engage in research, ensuring students receive current, industry-relevant knowledge.

Through exit interviews with graduating seniors, the department chair assesses program effectiveness, identifying areas for enhancement to maintain educational excellence.
