The Homeland Security Graduate Certificate program employs an all-hazards emergency management approach to train upcoming public administration leaders in addressing natural disasters, accidents, and human-caused threats. Students who complete this program will: Show proficiency in developing mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery approaches for diverse hazards including natural disasters, technological incidents, and terrorist activities. Adapt federal, state, and local plans to align with changing strategic policies under legislative and executive homeland security mandates. Evaluate terrorist organizations' tendencies to predict potential threats, their nature, and scale that may impact the nation, state, and local region. Create unified policies and operational frameworks to ensure coordinated agency collaboration across prevention, response, and recovery operations.

Qualification Requirements

Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate course work taken at any accredited college or University attended (Foreign College credits/transcripts require an official foreign evaluation). TAMU-CC transcript is not required.
A 300-500 word essay/personal statement describing work experience, educational goals, professional goals, languages spoken and any other material that would be relevant. The essay should also address the reasons and motivations for seeking a graduate certificate.
