Music majors additionally engage in chamber groups including string quartets, woodwind and brass ensembles, percussion ensembles, guitar ensembles, and others. As an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, we provide three undergraduate music degrees to support your professional aspirations: the Bachelor of Arts in Music, the Bachelor of Music with Teacher Certification, and the Bachelor of Music in Performance.
The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Department of Music aims to cultivate students' musical perception, artistic appreciation, and analytical abilities. We achieve this through a supportive, student-focused atmosphere where faculty and students collaborate to: Prepare music majors for careers in education, private instruction, the music industry, and performance, Offer music courses that introduce all students to essential musical concepts, diverse genres, historical contexts, and community music roles while enabling live performance participation, Inspire students to recognize music as an art form and pursue creative growth through study, performance, and production, and Enhance community arts and culture by presenting public concerts, recitals, and other musical engagements featuring faculty and students.
