To qualify for the thesis track in the ocean engineering graduate program, applicants must hold an undergraduate degree in an engineering field. Additional prerequisites tailored to individual students may be assigned by the department advisor, especially for those needing stronger foundations in core ocean engineering subjects like dynamics, fluid mechanics, and material mechanics.
The Master of Science thesis program mandates at least 30 credit hours along with a completed thesis. Course selection is made collaboratively with the student's advisory committee, adhering to Texas A&M University policies and requiring departmental graduate advisor approval. This degree path is available at both the College Station and Galveston campuses.
