Texas A&M University's Master of Science in industrial engineering is a popular choice for students pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Many also select this program to concentrate in one of four specialized fields: data science, health and human systems engineering, manufacturing, or operations research. These focused tracks enable students to develop specialized skills and in-depth understanding in their chosen area.
Our department offers five distinct programs: a Master of Engineering in industrial engineering, a Master of Science in industrial engineering, a Master of Science in engineering management, a Master of Science in systems engineering, and a Doctor of Philosophy in industrial engineering.
Each master's program requires 30 credit hours for completion. The Doctor of Philosophy program ranges from 64 to 90 credit hours, varying based on the student's prior education. Those entering with a master's degree can finish the 64-hour doctoral track (master's to doctorate), while students transitioning directly from a Bachelor of Science program must complete 96 credit hours to earn their doctorate.
