Texas A&M University's Master of Science in industrial engineering is a popular choice for students pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Many also select this program to specialize in one of four key areas: data science, health and human systems engineering, manufacturing, or operations research. These focused tracks enable students to concentrate on their preferred disciplines while developing specialized knowledge and skills.
Our department offers five distinct degree programs: a Master of Engineering in industrial engineering, a Master of Science in industrial engineering, a Master of Science in engineering management, a Master of Science in systems engineering, and a Doctor of Philosophy in industrial engineering.
Each master's degree requires completion of 30 credit hours. The Doctor of Philosophy program ranges from 64 to 90 credit hours, varying based on the student's prior education. Those entering with a master's degree can complete the 64-hour doctoral track (master's to doctorate), while students transitioning directly from a Bachelor of Science program must complete 96 credit hours to earn their doctorate.
