The Public Policy Concentration offers a unified program with options to specialize in either international or domestic policy. For the Domestic Public Policy track, students need to complete at least 16 credits from core and related courses while maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.33 in all graded classes. Courses taken for credit must be graded and cannot be completed on a pass/fail basis. Exceptions may be made in special cases, such as when new relevant courses are introduced or required courses become unavailable during a student's enrollment. Such exceptions require prior approval from the concentration's faculty advisor. Students may also substitute additional externships beyond the standard offerings for course credits, pending advisor approval.
Texas A&M's public policy concentration provides multiple pathways, including general public policy studies, domestic policy, international policy, or specialized focus areas. For example, students pursuing a natural resources specialization should work with both the domestic policy advisor, Charlotte Ku, and the natural resources advisor, Gabriel Eckstein, to design an appropriate course plan that meets concentration requirements.
