The Education for Health Care Professionals (EDHP) online graduate certificate program aims to introduce healthcare practitioners to adult learning principles while equipping them with skills to design, deliver, and assess curricula across various environments and diverse groups. The EDHP Certificate's primary objectives include preparing learners to: Educate across multiple settings as part of interdisciplinary teams. Combine theoretical knowledge with practical application when creating educational programs for different environments and communities. Employ modern instructional methods and delivery formats suitable for contemporary learning contexts. Assess learner outcomes using appropriate evaluation techniques in both clinical and academic environments. Enhance teaching capabilities for emerging educators. Our curriculum delivers essential training to cultivate influential leaders in medical education, supporting healthcare practitioners in or pursuing instructional leadership roles while developing exceptional teaching competencies within their specialties. Participants can finish a 36-credit, non-thesis program culminating in a healthcare education project, often allowing working professionals to apply their current workplace initiatives. The certificate program concludes with a supervised practicum implementing educational theories from core coursework.
You are an international graduate applicant if you:
are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States (or applicant for permanent residency) AND
you have not graduated from a Texas high school after three years in residence in Texas AND
hold a bachelor’s or professional degree (or equivalent)
Test Scores Accepted by Texas A&M University
The following global test scores are acceptable to meet the ELP Requirement for admission and registration:
Minimum TOEFL-iBT score of 80 (in person or Home Edition) from a test date within two years (Texas A&M University does not accept the MyBest TOEFL score)
Minimum TOEFL Essentials score of 8.5 from a test date within two years (Texas A&M University does not accept the MyBest TOEFL score)
Minimum IELTS Academic test score of 6.0 overall band from a test date within two years (Texas A&M University does not accept the IELTS General test)
GRE Verbal Reasoning score of at least 146 (subject to departmental approval) from a test date within five years; or
GMAT Verbal Score of at least 77 on the new scale or 22 on the old scale (subject to departmental approval) from a test date within five years.
