The Psychology PhD program educates students in experimental psychology methods, offering concentrations in Behavioral and Cellular Neuroscience, Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience, and Social and Personality Psychology. Participants can also engage with interdisciplinary research groups focusing on Diversity Science, Affective Science, and Personality Processes. Our professors lead cutting-edge research initiatives that examine and influence behavior through varied methodologies, ranging from microscopic to macroscopic perspectives, all aimed at enhancing human health and wellness. The PhD program's goals include: Equipping students to perform exceptional research, oversee research teams, and share discoveries through teaching and publications. Preparing graduates for academic careers or professional roles that address individual, societal, or institutional challenges through evidence-based solutions.
Statement of Purpose
We require three letters of recommendations and they must be submitted directly by recommenders through the electronic system.
Curriculum Vitae (C.V.)/ Resume
Official GRE Scores should be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service to Texas A&M University and be from a test date within five years of the date the application form reached the Office of Admissions. We do not require the GRE Psychology Subject test.
If you completed your undergraduate study at Texas A&M University, you do not need to submit an official transcript from the University. Texas A&M will accept electronic transcripts through PARCHMENT, SPEEDE, eScrip-SAFE or National Clearing House.

The following global test scores are acceptable to meet the ELP Requirement for admission and registration:
