The Physiology & Developmental Biology (P&DB) academic track equips BIMS PhD and Master's Thesis students for careers in biomedical sciences. This program fosters a comprehensive, interconnected knowledge of biological systems, examining animal structure and function across all scales from molecular to organismal levels.
Participants explore fundamental concepts in physiology and developmental biology while collaborating with faculty specializing in diverse areas such as cardiovascular systems, cellular/genetic/epigenetic processes, developmental mechanisms, musculoskeletal growth and repair, neural science, reproductive and endocrine functions, pharmacological studies, and toxicology - all applied to health advancement and disease treatment strategies.
Strong collaborative networks among faculty from multiple departments within the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences and throughout Texas A&M's scientific community create a distinctive cross-disciplinary learning environment. Researchers employ cutting-edge experimental approaches using in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo models, supported by advanced analytical technologies and extensive research infrastructure with big data processing capabilities.
