The AEGD Residency is a one-year advanced training program offering post-doctoral dental education. Designed to enhance both clinical abilities and theoretical understanding, this program enables general practitioners to deliver complete dental care to diverse patient populations. The curriculum fosters independent decision-making skills that surpass undergraduate training, equipping graduates for thriving in comprehensive practice environments.
Spanning twelve months, the AEGD program focuses on treatment planning, case coordination, and delivering clinical services to patients with complex, multidisciplinary needs. Modern evidence-based dental practices form the foundation of all program components.
Clinical training in the AEGD is significantly strengthened by a robust educational curriculum that directly improves patient treatment outcomes. Texas A&M University School of Dentistry launched its AEGD Residency Program in July 1990, achieving accredited approval status the following year in 1991.
