The expansion of the poultry sector has increased demand for expertise in scientific, technical, and business disciplines essential for effective poultry farming. Few scientific domains offer greater rewards than modern, intensive poultry and food production for understanding foundational sciences, nutrition, genetics, physiology, disease management, biotechnology, processing, and marketing. The program equips students with fundamental knowledge, analytical abilities, problem-solving techniques, and leadership skills for managing intricate production facilities, hatcheries, feed mills, processing plants, and research labs. With the industry's swift expansion, graduates enjoy abundant career prospects. Students can focus their studies by selecting one of two specialized tracks. Both tracks require completion of the University Core Curriculum and Poultry Science Core courses. A Bachelor of Science degree is awarded upon finishing the required courses for either specialization. Early and regular academic advising is highly recommended and easily accessible.
Graduates with a BS degree in the industry track secure roles in poultry and food companies, including corporate leadership, quality control, sales, or technical assistance in live production, processing, or marketing. This track also prepares students for careers with pharmaceutical firms, equipment suppliers, trade publications, and various university or public service roles.
