The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) traditional pathway is a two-year, five-semester program available in Bryan-College Station, with plans to expand to McAllen starting spring 2026. This curriculum includes 61 credit hours of specialized nursing courses. Before admission, students need to finish roughly 59 credit hours of prerequisite studies in humanities, biological sciences, physical sciences, and behavioral sciences to establish a strong foundation for nursing education. These preparatory courses can be taken at any accredited college or university. Both current Texas A&M students and transfer applicants are eligible to apply, though high school seniors cannot apply directly. Applicants must meet Texas A&M's transfer student criteria, defined as individuals who have earned college credits post-high school graduation during regular academic terms. This includes students who may have completed college coursework or associate degrees while still in high school. Candidates with over 90 credit hours or an existing degree should explore alternative pathways, such as finishing their current degree program before applying to the second-degree BSN option. After fulfilling all academic requirements, graduates become eligible to take the NCLEX for RN licensure. The school assists students with Texas RN licensure procedures in their final semester.
Minimum requirements for admission:
75% HESI score in each section
