Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary field that combines psychology, psychiatry, biology, chemistry, physics, kinesiology, veterinary science, and medicine. In this program, students learn from professors across various departments, working closely with Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics (NEXT) and the Texas A&M Institute for Neuroscience. This degree prepares graduates for both advanced academic pursuits and entry-level roles in healthcare and technical fields. The curriculum features essential life science courses along with a neuroscience fundamentals sequence that builds toward more specialized classes. Faculty from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences oversee this concentration, partnering with the Department of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics in the School of Medicine, with coursework emphasizing biomedical, translational, and preclinical neuroscience.
