The Bachelor of Science in Journalism prepares aspiring journalists to specialize in science reporting, data-driven storytelling, digital tools, and quantitative analysis. Students in this program complete a minimum of 33 credit hours in journalism studies, covering essential skills like media writing, information verification, and professional journalism practices. Alongside rigorous coursework, all BS candidates participate in a structured, credit-based internship tailored to their specialization. The science component includes statistics, research methodology, and a personalized two-course concentration selected with faculty guidance. Additionally, every journalism BS student will complement their degree with a minor from Texas A&M University's diverse science offerings.

The program also allows journalism students to enhance their expertise through specialized certificates in areas such as Global Media, Social Justice Advocacy, Health Communication, Leadership & Conflict Resolution, Social Media Strategy, or Strategic Communication.
