This dual degree program provides ambitious students an exceptional chance to earn both bachelor's and master's degrees in a streamlined timeframe. Participants will undertake a 151-credit curriculum leading to simultaneous Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in journalism.
To graduate from The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication with these combined degrees, students must meet all BA requirements specified by the school and all MA requirements outlined in the Graduate Studies Bulletin, with the special provision that three graduate courses can apply toward both degrees. While students may choose any three relevant graduate courses for their undergraduate major, most typically select from JRNL 211, 215, 216, 231, and 253. Journalism majors must also complete the program requirements below and a liberal arts minor from Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, comprising 18 credits (with at least 6 completed on campus) as defined by the chosen discipline.
