This integrated program provides driven and outstanding students a pathway to efficiently pursue their goals at Texas A&M, earning both a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Geosciences and a Master of Science (MS) in Water Management and Hydrological Science (WMHS) within five years. The dual-degree structure allows dedicated students to strategically plan their BS and MS coursework, fulfilling all credit requirements for both degrees in five years while maintaining academic rigor and depth.
The Environmental Geosciences BS program incorporates diverse geoscience disciplines to deliver a comprehensive, interdisciplinary education that includes environmental policy considerations. This degree prepares graduates for careers with industries, environmental consultancies, engineering firms, NGOs, and government regulatory bodies, among others. Students concentrate their studies on specific environmental themes: coastal/marine systems, water resources, anthropogenic environmental impacts, climate change, or biosphere studies. The WMHS program employs an interdisciplinary framework to equip students with robust technical expertise in water-related fields. Participants gain holistic knowledge of hydrology and the complex relationships between biophysical and social sciences in water resource management, aiming to enhance water availability and quality for human welfare and sustainable development.
