Texas A&M's four-year Computer Science bachelor's program offers comprehensive training in computing alongside foundational studies in science, math, English, and statistics. The initial semesters feature a wide-ranging core curriculum that introduces key computing principles. In advanced semesters, students select specialized courses from four focus areas (algorithms and theory, computer systems, software development, and information/intelligent systems) to achieve both comprehensive knowledge and specialized expertise. These electives enable students to customize their education based on personal interests, with high-achieving students potentially taking graduate-level courses for elective credit.
The Computer Science major incorporates a concentration area, empowering students to create an interdisciplinary study plan that enhances their technical coursework by leveraging offerings from other university departments.
