The joint degree initiative offered by the Political Science Department and The Bush School of Government and Public Service enables undergraduate Political Science majors to start their Master of Public Service studies, specializing in Public Policy Analysis, during their fourth year at Texas A&M. This curriculum blends analytical reasoning with practical applications to examine how human behavior intersects with public policy and administration, while also developing leadership capabilities and research techniques.
Participants must fulfill identical coursework requirements as all other MPSA candidates at the Bush School. Graduates emerge equipped for diverse career paths such as roles in municipal, state, or national government agencies, non-profit sectors, or government consulting firms.
Prospective students should submit applications in the spring of their third year. Accepted candidates commence graduate-level coursework in their senior year while maintaining undergraduate status. After completing the initial two semesters, students transition to full master's degree status. This reclassification requires prior completion of all bachelor's degree requirements in Political Science.
