The Department of Global Languages and Cultures (GLAC) unites faculty specializing in linguistic, cultural, literary, language, and media research and instruction. Serving as Texas A&M's hub for language education, we offer programs in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Ancient Greek, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian, and Spanish. Our vibrant faculty and curricula span Hispanic Studies, Modern Languages, Classics, Religious Studies, Africana Studies, Jewish Studies, and Global Studies. Committed to promoting cross-cultural awareness and worldwide involvement, we advance knowledge through research, sharing, and interpretation. GLAC provides Bachelor of Arts degrees in Classics, Modern Languages (French, German, or Russian), and Spanish, all emphasizing language skills and cultural competency. University-wide students can pursue minors in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, or Spanish, along with specialized programs in Africana Studies, Asian Studies, Hispanic Community Engagement, Medical Spanish, Classical Studies, Religious Studies, Jewish Studies, and Comparative Cultural Studies.
