The occupational therapy program holds accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), part of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Following an on-site evaluation and ACOTE Board assessment, the program received a full 10-year accreditation. The next accreditation review is scheduled for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Tennessee State University maintains accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, granting it authority to confer associate, bachelor's, master's, specialist in education, and doctoral degrees. The university is also approved to offer certificates and diplomas at authorized degree levels.
