The Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences requires completing at least 120 semester credit hours, with a minimum of 42 upper-level (3000 or 4000) credits. This includes 43 credits of General Education courses (including 4 credits of Calculus I) and at least 60 mathematics credits, with 45 being upper-level. The core curriculum features a 12-credit calculus series, two-semester sequences in analysis and modern algebra, plus coursework in combinatorics, number theory, geometry, differential equations, linear algebra, mathematical software, probability and statistics, mathematics history, and a capstone project. Given the strict prerequisite chain, students should regularly meet with their departmental advisor. Note: Mathematics courses with grades below C cannot fulfill major requirements.
