Our program inspires students to examine historical events through diverse lenses such as race, socioeconomic status, gender identity, and sexuality across local, national, and international contexts. As educators, we nurture our students' academic growth through comprehensive coursework, distinguished guest lectures, hands-on internships, research projects, and personalized guidance. By investigating historical occurrences and their influence on society, we cultivate knowledgeable scholars who value our complex, evolving global community. Students can pursue either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in History, both demanding completion of TSU's core curriculum alongside 39 credit hours in history. The BA program mandates four semesters of foreign language study or demonstrated proficiency, while the BS track offers concentrations in public history or interdisciplinary social science studies without language requirements.
