The 30-credit Spanish MA program offers a wide selection of required and optional courses in advanced linguistics and literary studies. Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A baccalaureate degree, preferably in Spanish, is required for admission.
Statement of Goals: Approximately 2 to 3 pages include your interest in Temple's Spanish program, future career goals, research goals, academic achievements, and any related experience. Applicants interested in Teaching Assistantships, fellowships, or other financial support may describe special needs in an addendum to their personal statement.
Standardized Test Scores:
GRE: Typical scores range from 153 to 166 in verbal reasoning and 144 to 155 in quantitative reasoning. Applicants from Spanish-speaking countries may present EXADEP scores instead.
International applicants are required to provide scores from one of the following tests: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic).
Resume: Current resume required.
Writing Sample: A paper or journal article written in Spanish is required.
The minimum admissions standard for all graduate students is ordinarily an undergraduate grade point average of B or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or the functional equivalent for students who have attended universities outside of the United States.
