Dental public health focuses on preventing dental conditions and enhancing oral wellness via coordinated community initiatives. These initiatives involve evaluating oral health needs, applying research to shape health policies, and working to guarantee accessible services that meet community health objectives.
The Dental Public Health Residency Program at Kornberg School of Dentistry earned accreditation from the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) on February 4, 2016. Following American Board of Dental Public Health (ABDPH) standards, this certificate program enables dentists holding a Master of Public Health (MPH) to fulfill the educational criteria for Board certification in Dental Public Health.
Kornberg School of Dentistry's dental public health residency aims to equip dentists with the training needed to:
work in dental public health,
pass the ABDPH exam to earn Diplomate recognition, and
develop, execute, and oversee dental public health research initiatives.
Certificate Completion Timeline: 1 year full-time, 3 years part-time
Location: Health Sciences Center

Non-Degree Student Policy: With instructor and Kornberg School of Dentistry's Office of Graduate Education approval, non-matriculated students may take select courses.
