This program focuses intensely on translational medicine, consistently working to move evidence-based discoveries into clinical trials and, when validated, incorporate them into medical practice. You can investigate diverse research domains centered on progress in biological imaging, biomaterials and injury biomechanics, neuroengineering, stem cell and cancer-cell engineering, biomaterial synthesis and properties, precision drug delivery, tissue regeneration, and beyond. PhD students have conducted research alongside partners at Temple's Fox Chase Cancer Center, Katz School of Medicine, Kornberg School of Dentistry, and College of Science and Technology. You'll advance your work with cutting-edge laboratory resources and the guidance of a tight-knit engineering community that fosters close collaboration. While most classes and lab sessions are daytime, evening courses are available to fulfill the program's academic requirements.
