This Accelerated Program enables Mathematics undergraduate majors in the College of Science and Technology to earn both their bachelor's degree and, subsequently, a Master's Degree in Middle Grades Education within one additional year. The graduate program fulfills the Pennsylvania Department of Education's criteria for Teacher Certification in Middle Grades Education (Grades 4-8). Beyond qualifying to teach all elementary subjects for grades 4-6, participants will also specialize in one of these certification options for grades 7-8: Dual certifications (Mathematics/Science, Mathematics/English Language Arts, or Science/English Language Arts) or Single certification (English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies).

Your application must include all official and original academic records from any secondary school you have ever attended.
If you are attending a secondary school curriculum that is four years, Temple University reviews grades nine through 11 as well as your current progress in 12th grade (term/quarter/semester/predicted) or your final transcript if you completed secondary school.
If you are attending a secondary school curriculum that is only three years, we strongly recommend you submit the final year of your primary school as well.
