Temple's Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd) in Secondary Education: Mathematics provides students with comprehensive training in mathematical concepts and methodologies, while emphasizing instructional techniques, student interaction, and classroom management. The program offers two distinct tracks—Secondary Education: Mathematics and TUTeach—which vary in their balance between advanced mathematics coursework and pedagogical studies on adolescent development and teaching strategies. To earn certification in Secondary Education: Mathematics, students must fulfill both the major requirements for Secondary Education: Mathematics and the Mathematics major as outlined by the College of Science and Technology. The curriculum includes hands-on teaching experiences through various fieldwork assignments, culminating in a full-semester practicum where students teach at a local high school under the guidance of a mentor teacher and Temple University faculty.
