Temple's Jazz Studies program offers students the chance to join various ensemble groups, ranging from large to small. The program features Jazz Band, Lab Band, Brass Ensemble, Fusion Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble, and New Music by Temple Composers, delivering a well-rounded performance experience for both soloists and ensemble players. Each group receives guidance from a skilled faculty of musician-educators. Graduates leave equipped to pursue professional performance careers. Through the Bachelor of Music (BM) in Jazz Studies Performance at Temple's Boyer College of Music and Dance, students gain a broad perspective on jazz as a performance art while participating in diverse ensembles. This 123-credit, full-time undergraduate program builds a solid foundation for careers in jazz composition, education, or performance, preparing students to collaborate with instrumentalists and vocalists or perform solo.
