Discover a wide range of performance options through credit-based musical groups and private lessons available to all eligible students across academic disciplines. Build well-rounded musical skills by completing two years of music theory, three semesters of music history, one year of piano training, and at least two years of individual instruction and ensemble participation.
Hone your abilities through private or group lessons at Oswego, offered for all instruments and vocal training with our skilled faculty. Consider auditioning for one of our two major choirs, specialized vocal groups, orchestra, wind ensemble, or jazz bands. Participate in musical theater and opera productions through our partnerships with the theater department. Outstanding performers may qualify for membership in Mu Beta Psi, the national music fraternity, or Pi Kappa Lambda, the prestigious music honor society.
Our recently upgraded Tyler Hall serves as the music department's central hub, featuring a grand theater, two spacious rehearsal/performance spaces, numerous practice rooms, a cutting-edge digital piano lab, a fully equipped MIDI computer lab, a music resource center, and a professional digital recording studio.
