The Theater Education 4+1 Program enables students to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Theater with a concentration in theater education, a Master of Education degree, an English super-minor, Pennsylvania secondary school teaching certification, and complete a student teaching semester in a high school environment. This accelerated program permits undergraduates to start graduate-level coursework during their junior and senior years, requiring just 19 remaining graduate credits after receiving their theater BA.
This curriculum equips students for professional opportunities in theater education and community engagement. These emerging educators are passionate artists attracted to academic environments, children's theater, and nationwide theater education initiatives. They'll serve as teaching artists for all age groups, partner with youth theater organizations nationwide, instruct in secondary schools, oversee arts programs at various institutions, and pursue numerous other career paths available to dedicated theater professionals.

Your application must include all official and original academic records from any secondary school you have ever attended.
If you are attending a secondary school curriculum that is four years, Temple University reviews grades nine through 11 as well as your current progress in 12th grade (term/quarter/semester/predicted) or your final transcript if you completed secondary school.
If you are attending a secondary school curriculum that is only three years, we strongly recommend you submit the final year of your primary school as well.
