Undergraduate history students in the College of Liberal Arts share a collective fascination with human identity, historical influences on our modern world, and how past events shape contemporary society. A history degree provides excellent foundational training for careers in law, education, business, government, and other professional fields. Study history in America's birthplace at Temple University, where our globally renowned faculty deliver engaging coursework. Options include majoring or minoring in history, or pursuing an honors bachelor's degree. Through our innovative Plus 1 Accelerated Program, Liberal Arts history majors can earn both their undergraduate degree and, in just one additional year, a Master's in Secondary Education. This graduate program fulfills all Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements for Social Studies Teacher Certification (Grades 7-12).
