Within this interdisciplinary framework, Communication Studies offers specialized tracks for focused study: Communication and Entrepreneurship Contemporary Media Environments Global Civil Society Policy, Regulation and Advocacy Production (exclusive to Temple Japan students) Advanced scholars may pursue the Major of Distinction track. The program's adaptability provides valuable opportunities for field experiences, internships, and study abroad programs essential for a well-rounded education. This innovative program attracts students with diverse skills and interests, preparing graduates for various career paths including graduate studies, law school, or professional programs. The Major of Distinction offers an intensive academic path for students seeking to design a personalized curriculum spanning multiple Klein College departments. Participants collaborate with faculty advisors to create specialized study plans beyond standard track offerings. The program requires five courses (four at upper-division levels) and culminates in a year-long senior thesis. Majors must demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language through three semesters of study (or equivalent) before graduation. Depending on research focus, advisors may require advanced methods or theory coursework.
