The College of Communication and Information cultivates students' understanding of the legal and ethical obligations surrounding information access and free expression in democratic societies. It also supports professional development by equipping students for careers in communication and information fields. The College comprises four academic units: the Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations, School of Communication Studies, School of Information Sciences, and School of Journalism and Electronic Media. Students can choose from five undergraduate programs: advertising, communication studies, information sciences, journalism and electronic media, and public relations. The School of Communication Studies additionally provides an honors program for undergraduates. Universal Tracking (uTrack) serves as an academic progress system aimed at ensuring students graduate on schedule. To maintain satisfactory progress, students must meet specific requirements each semester, known as milestones, which involve passing designated courses and maintaining minimum GPA standards. These uTrack provisions apply exclusively to full-time students pursuing degree programs.
