The M.S. in School Counseling P-12 equips graduates to become compassionate, proactive counselors in academic environments, championing student needs while applying modern methodologies and innovative approaches.
Offered through the Department of Counseling and Human Services, this program cultivates the attitudes, expertise, and competencies needed to foster students' academic growth, career readiness, and personal/social wellbeing. Alumni emerge as transformative leaders capable of designing comprehensive, evidence-based counseling initiatives encompassing direct services, program development, and administration. This CACREP-endorsed curriculum aligns with the American School Counselor Association's national framework and fulfills New York State's educational prerequisites for both initial and professional School Counselor certification.

The master's curriculum spans 60 graduate credits. While full-time students typically finish in 2 years (including summer sessions), individualized advising enables working professionals to pursue part-time options, with all degree requirements to be fulfilled within a 7-year timeframe.
