The master's programs in Music Education equip graduates to become creative musicians, dynamic educators, and passionate arts advocates within their schools and communities.
These collaborative programs offered by the School of Education and Setnor School of Music foster an exceptional learning environment where students cultivate the knowledge and abilities needed to evolve into proficient, self-directed educators and lifelong learners. Syracuse University offers two distinct Music Education graduate degrees, tailored to your current New York State teaching credentials:

This pathway fulfills the educational requirements for both initial and professional New York State music teaching certification (all grade levels).
The Music Education: Professional M.Mus. program serves educators who already possess New York State initial certification in Music (all grades). This advanced program satisfies the academic prerequisites for professional music teaching certification in New York State.
