Our Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) program in photographic arts draws students who have developed a substantial portfolio and seek to deepen their involvement with modern photographic techniques. You'll collaborate with our faculty and renowned scholars across Syracuse University to advance your artistic exploration. We don't advocate for any singular artistic approach - instead, we seek candidates who have started shaping their distinctive viewpoint. Our mission is to cultivate artists with exceptional visual styles. The rigorous curriculum combines one-on-one mentoring, group critiques, and studies in art history and theory, providing an immersive educational experience focused on current artistic trends. Additionally, the majority of our M.F.A. candidates gain valuable experience by instructing their own courses.
