The doctoral program in business administration equips exceptional candidates for careers in academic research. Focused heavily on research, it emphasizes scholarly excellence and readiness for an academic career across various business disciplines including accounting, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, management, information systems, statistics, and supply chain management. Students must complete a supporting field either within the Whitman School of Management or another university department. Graduates will: master foundational literature in their chosen specialization; develop advanced research methodologies for rigorous investigation; identify and explore significant academic problems; produce original, publishable research; and gain teaching proficiency as both assistants and instructors in their field.
