The Bachelor of Arts and minor in Women's and Gender Studies offer an interdisciplinary examination of how power and social dynamics intersect. Our program approaches gender studies through global and intersectional perspectives, enabling students to analyze how gender concepts and systems influence historical and contemporary societies. The curriculum highlights transnational movements for justice, socioeconomic change, and women's empowerment while critically examining race, ethnicity, nationality, class, age, sexuality, and disability as vital analytical frameworks.
Women's and Gender Studies bridges academic theory with real-world application to reshape social structures, cultural narratives, knowledge systems, and policies. Using cross-disciplinary and comparative methods, students explore gender as both an intersectional and global phenomenon, revealing how gender ideologies continue to shape our world. Central themes include equity, societal transformation, and female empowerment, with consistent emphasis on analyzing race, ethnicity, national identity, socioeconomic status, age, sexual orientation, and differing abilities throughout all course levels.
