The Curriculum and Instruction Department provides pathways to earn a Bachelor of Science degree and qualify for NYS initial teaching certification in various Childhood 1-6 subjects (The Arts, English, French, German, mathematics, science, social studies, Spanish, women's studies) or Adolescence 7-12 disciplines (biology, chemistry, earth sciences, English, French, German, mathematics, physics, social studies, Spanish), plus TESOL K-12 certification. All programs combine pedagogical training with subject-specific coursework. Students in Adolescence 7-12 and TESOL K-12 programs are advised to explore dual majors in their focus areas.
