The French undergraduate program offers both a major for the Bachelor of Arts degree and optional minors in either French or interdisciplinary Francophone Studies.
Degree Requirements-
To earn a Bachelor of Arts in French, students must complete 120 total units, with 45 units dedicated to the major. This includes a mandatory Common Core consisting of 3 lower-division units and 27 upper-division units, plus 15 elective units from groups A-D.
Students should meet with an advisor to determine the exact unit requirements across all degree components, including general education and free electives, as some courses may fulfill multiple requirements. Before starting the French BA program, students must either complete FREN 2002 or show equivalent language proficiency.

Qualification Requirements

Your secondary education must be in an academic track, intended for college/university preparation and be deemed similar in preparation to what is required of U.S. high school graduates. Have a minimum 3.00 GPA (on a 4.00 scale) in academic courses of the last 3 years of high school/secondary education. You must graduate from high school/complete your secondary education by the end of the Spring term prior to Fall enrollment. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - 61 ibT or higher, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Band 5.5 or higher.
