Our program offers a grounding in geological fundamentals and associated sciences, featuring four labs, a seismograph, and hands-on fieldwork. An innovative environmental earth sciences track combines interdisciplinary environmental studies from biology, chemistry, weather science, and physics.

Oswego's prime location enables field research on Lake Ontario, Paleozoic-era sedimentary formations, Adirondack Precambrian bedrock, glacial remnants from the Pleistocene epoch, and aquatic contamination. Excursions may visit southeastern Pennsylvania, Chesapeake Bay, Ithaca, Whitaker State Park, and the Catskills.

Collaborate with professors nationwide on research projects or gain practical field experience through our Geology Field Program. Enhance your professional profile with internships, cooperative education, and faculty-guided research projects. Pursue international geology studies through academic programs or research positions abroad.
